The owners of this existing contemporary home desired a multi-functional music room/library that could accommodate up to 40 guests for recitals, yet be comfortable for daily living. They also wished for a media room and master bedroom/office suite addition.

A dramatic tower was created to provide a rhythmic counterpoint to the overall horizontal massing of the existing home, and maximize views to the surrounding woods and private pond. Inspiration for the music room’s curved walls came from the forms found in the family’s musical instruments. The adjoining library with custom casework displays the homeowner’s collection of books and antiques. The second floor master bedroom suite features a comfortable sitting area, covered porch, and adjoining home office, accessed through French doors.
